The Bagel Factory - Case Study

The Bagel Factory is part of the Fish Island development in the up and coming area of Hackney Wick, centred around the bustling canals. The brick-clad buildings are representative of the area's historic association with manufacturing and production. The development is complete with a garden terrace, gym and concierge service.

Chiltern Contracts was awarded a comprehensive works package for various sectors across the development. The internal works included the installation of waterproofing systems to all bathroom areas, as well as tiling 600x600mm tiles to all horizontal surfaces in the apartments. Porcelain tiles were also installed to horizontal and vertical surfaces in the bathrooms, including a feature wall with 75x300 beige and brown tiles. Further tiling was completed in the lobby areas across the development. Chiltern Contracts was also responsible for the installation of brick slips in a variety of shades to feature walls in the main rooms of the apartments, which totalled over 2,000m².

The external works included the installation of stone to the communal areas on the roof of the building. The communal areas provide a hub for residents of the complex to indulge in the views of the Olympic Park and London skyline.
